Tuchel frustrated with officiating during Southampton win

Thomas Tuchel claimed he has zero understanding of some refereeing decisions in the Premier League after Chelsea defeated Southampton 3-1 on Saturday.

The reigning European champions took the lead through Trevoh Chalobah s second top-flight strike at Stamford Bridge with just his second shot.

James Ward-Prowse then became the fourth player to score and be sent off in the Premier League for Ralph Hasenhuttl s men, who were downed by late goals from Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell.

However, it could have been a much different game if Werner s first-half strike had not been ruled out for Cesar Azpilicueta s apparent foul on Kyle Walker-Peters, and Tuchel vented his frustrations after the match.

Everybody tells me we will go back to English football, not whistl…

Questionable defending proves costly as Manchester United bow out of the Europa League to Sevilla (Video)

Sevilla booked a place in the 2019/20 Europa League final at the expense of Manchester United on Sunday.

United took the lead after only nine minutes as Bruno Fernandes converted yet another penalty for his team, but Suso equalized for the Andalusians in the 26th minute and Luuk de Jong turned the score completely around in the 78th.

Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka didn t exactly cover themselves in glory for Sevilla s first, while Victor Lindelof and Brandon Williams did practically the same for De Jong s winner.

I´m a fighter, insists under-fire England manager

England manager Fabio Capello insists he is a fighter and will cling to his job as his players prepare to launch their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign.

Capello has been the subject of abuse and ridicule from some sections of the English media since a miserable performance at the World Cup saw his side beaten 4-1 by Germany in the last 16.

He was even pictured with donkey ears in one newspaper and called an ass for sending Arsenal teenager Jack Wilshere back to the Under-21s instead of selecting him to face Bulgaria on September 3 at Wembley and Switzerland in Basel on September 7.

Now, as Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and company prepare to begin the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign, Capello is adamant he has no intention of being forced out of the job with two years …

Inter Miami push to sign Lionel Messi

Inter Miami are working together with the Major League Soccer with the aim of arranging the transfer of Lionel Messi, a fee agent as his Paris Saint-Germain contract expires this month, according to .

Widely considered the best player the world has seen in the last 15 years, the seven-time Ballon d Or winner has had a season of mixed fortunes and emotions. He captained Argentina as they won the World Cup in Qatar last year, but having stood by his international teammate, Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez who mocked Kylian Mbappe after the final, back in the French capital his welcome seemed doubtful.

The 35-year-old s exit from the Parc des Princes appeared almost certain after the home defeat to Lorient on the last day of April, after which he flew to Saudi Arab…

Thiago Silva planning to retire at PSG

Thiago Silva is hoping to remain at Paris Saint-Germain for the rest of his career.

The Brazilian arrived at the Parc des Princes from AC Milan in 2012 and has won every domestic trophy, including three Ligue 1 titles.

His contract is due to expire in 2018, but the 31-year-old is hoping he will not have to leave the club until he hangs up his boots.

I want to finish my career here, he said.

I need to speak with the president [Nasser Al Khelaifi] to see if he agrees or not.

I was very moved by the tribute tonight. Paris has become my second city after Rio [de Janeiro].

I really like this city. I live here with my family, my son is growing up here. He has the right conditions for him to grow well in Europe – the city of Paris is grea…

Argentina must not lean on Messi, says D´Alessandro

Argentina must not rely solely on the talents of Lionel Messi, according to former midfielder Andres D Alessandro.

Messi has fired in decisive goals for Alejandro Sabella s men at the FIFA World Cup so far, netting the second goal in their 2-1 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina before finding a way through a steadfast Iran defence late on in a 1-0 result.

The Barcelona star s goals have assured Argentina of a spot in the knockout stages, although they must avoid defeat against Nigeria on Wednesday to finish top of Group F.

D Alessandro, who played 28 internationals for Argentina between 2003 and 2011, said an over-reliance on three-time Ballon d Or winner Messi could be the nation s downfall.

The pressure he (Messi) already has, the common pressure, as he is th…

My heart is with Shakhtar – Srna extends contract to end Barcelona links

Darijo Srna has signed a contract extension with Shakhtar Donetsk, ending repeated speculation that he could move to Barcelona.

The Liga side reportedly tried to bring Srna to Camp Nou in January to solve their problem position of right-back, only for Srna to reject the transfer.

The former Croatia international his country s most capped player with 134 appearances has now agreed a new deal that runs to the end of the 2017/18 season and Srna signalled his intention to stay with the club for the rest of his career.

I am very happy, Srna said after marking his 35th birthday on Monday by signing the new contract.

I want to finish my career at Shakhtar. And when the president told me that he offered me a new contract, I only thanked him in response.

Chicago Fire keen on Jakub Blaszczykowski

Former Borussia Dortmund star Jakub Blaszczykowski could move to the MLS side Chicago Fire during the summer transfer window, Polish Sport has learned.

With Wolfsburg currently in the rebuilding process, the 31-year-old Blaszczykowski does not seem to fit into the club management’s plans. The experienced right winger is reportedly going to be thanked for his services and allowed to leave after a disappointing season in the Bundesliga.

The Polish international made 20 Bundesliga appearances for the struggling Wolves last season. He failed to get his name on the scoresheet in the process and only recorded one assist for his club.

Blaszczykowski could join former Bayern Munich and Manchester United star Bayern Munich at Chicago Fire as head coach Veljko Paunovic …

Nvidia Briefly Overtakes Amazon To Become Fourth-Most-Valuable US Company

Tech giant Nvidia hit an all-time high on the stock market on Monday, managing to briefly surpass even Amazon when it reached a market valuation of $1.83 trillion. The rally saw it temporarily become the fourth-highest valued US-listed company behind Alphabet, Apple, and Microsoft, Bloomberg reports.

Bitesize Prediction: Real Sociedad vs Cadiz – 15/03/24

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/9 @

Desperate to find some kind of recent stability, Real Sociedad will welcome Cadiz to the Reale Arena on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, making what was a crucial return to winning ways last weekend as they snatched an action-packed 3-2 victory away at Granada, Real Sociedad will be desperate to use that performance as a platform to build on. However, crashing out of the Champions League earlier in the month following a 4-1 aggregate defeat at the hands of French giants PSG, Imanol Alguacil’s men have recorded just a pair of wins from any of their previous 11 straight appearances across all competitions. With that extended rut stemming all the way back to a 2-1 Copa del Rey victory away at Celta Vigo on January 23rd, Re…
