Laurent Blanc has been coy on his coaching future after his France side were eliminated from Euro 2012 by title holders Spain.
The former Manchester United defender took the reins of the French national team in 2010 after winning the Ligue 1 title with Bordeaux, succeeding Raymond Domenech, who had a tumultuous six-year tenure which culminated with an early, shambolic exit at the 2010 World Cup.
Although Blanc brought stability back to the national side and guided them to a 23-game unbeaten streak as well as a place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2012, his future remains up in the air as his contract is due to expire.
He had a disagreement with France Football Association chief Noel Le Graet before the tournament as Blanc wished to see his contract extended before the start of Euro 2012 while the president predicated the extension on France qualifying for the last eight at least.
Speaking after his side s exit after a 2-0 defeat to Spain in which Xabi Alonso scored a brace, the French coach refused to drop any hints about his future.
We have just been kicked out of the tournament, the disappointment is there for all to see among coaching staff and players alike, Blanc told reporters.
We will have to draw up an assessment of this Euro, an analysis in the next few days. There shall be positives and negatives, and we will see what happens afterwards.
Blanc has been linked with several clubs in the past months. The 46-year-old was firstly seen as a potential successor to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, before lately being linked to Chelsea and Tottenham, as well as Inter, who he played for from 1999 to 2001.
