The 22-year-old Dutch international has arrived to the Emirates to boost the defensive department of Mikel Arteta s squad. Primarily a centre-back, he can also play on the right defensive flank if need be, but he ll have strong competition for a place in the starting XI in either role.
Having signed five-year contract, Timber is Arsenal s second confirmed signing, following the arrival of Kai Havertz from Chelsea. The Gunners are also expected to complete the signing of Declan Rice from West Ham in the coming days.
Kane to travel for Spurs pre-season tour
Harry Kane is expected to travel with the Tottenham Hotspur squad to their pre-season tour of Asia and the Pacific.
The England captain is an object of strong interest from Bayern Munich, who have had several bids for his services rejected already. The Bavarians aren t ready to give up just yet, and with Kane reportedly open to the idea of joining the Bundesliga champions, his future is still pretty much in the air.
Spurs are still adamant that no offer for their star striker will be considered, but if they stay true to their word, they face a strong possibility of losing Kane on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who captained Spurs until the end of 2022/23, will not be making the trip as he seeks to secure a transfer away from North London.
No Saudi bids for Liverpool duo
Liverpool fans are getting impatient to learn the fates of captain Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, following reports that the club captain has accepted a highly lucrative offer to join former teammate Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq, and those claiming Al-Ittihad are preparing an offer of £40 million for the services of Fabinho.
The Merseysiders remain in the position to have the final word on either move, with Henderson s contract running until 2025 and that of Fabinho a year longer. However, it seems there hasn t been anything for Liverpool to decide about, given that neither of the two Saudi clubs presented an official offer for their respective targets.
Wolves consider Kelleher swoop
Speaking of Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers are believed to be looking at Caoimhin Kelleher as a potential goalkeeper target, should they part ways with Jose Sa.
Kelleher, the backup for Alisson Becker at Liverpool, has already been publicly advised by Ireland boss Stephen Kenny to leave Anfield and go somewhere in search of playing regularly.
The 23-year-old is a reasonably good option for Jurgen Klopp to rely on; he certainly proved that during the 2021/22 Carabao Cup campaign. Liverpool reportedly want him to stay put, but if a suitable offer arrives and he asks to leave, they aren t expected to stand in his way.
Tadic leaves Ajax
Dusan Tadic has left Ajax after the club accepted his request to have his contract terminated.
The 34-year-old winger/attacking midfielder was the captain of the club, with a total of 217 goal contributions (102 goals, 115 assists) in 241 appearances, three Eredivisie titles, two Dutch Cup trophies, along with one Dutch Super Cup.
The Serbia international, who expressed a desire to return to Ajax in a coaching role in the future, is now available as a free agent.
